Libertarian Party of Idaho
Welcome to The Libertarian Party of Idaho Official Web Site
Our mission is to move public policy in a libertarian direction.
We support the following principles:
All people possess certain unalienable, natural rights.
Among these are rights to life, liberty, justly acquired property, and self-governance.
The only moral basis of government is the preservation and protection of unalienable,
natural rights.
No person or institution, public or private, has the right to initiate the use of physical force or fraud against
another person.
All people are bound to abstain from infringing upon the natural rights of other people.
All people are entitled to choose their own lifestyles, as long as they do not impose their values on others.
Voluntary and unrestricted exchange of goods and services is fundamental to a peaceful and harmonious society.
Libertarians are independent, principled people who are self-reliant and who have reluctantly entered the political arena in order to re-establish the values and freedoms that made this country great.
The Libertarian Party is committed to America's heritage of freedom, individual liberty, personal responsibility, a free-market economy and a foreign policy of non-intervention, peace, and free trade.
We welcome your participation and support.

Federal
spending is more than $1 million per minute more than tax collections. We are
borrowing the extra $1 million a minute and adding it to the national debt that
is approaching $8 trillion. Our country
is headed for a financial collapse worse than Katrina.
| Rep. Otter responds to blast from IDLP Secretary |
June 16, 2005
Responding to an email challenge to the constitutionality of the REAL ID Act, Rep. Butch Otter (R-ID) insists that National ID Cards will help tighten immigration rules while protecting civil rights. One of us has missed the boat here. The REAL ID Act was passed as an amendment to the Emergency Wartime Supplemental Appropriations Act for FY2005 which authorized spending $82 BILLION more on operations in Iraq. There was no substantive debate on the Act and it passed with unanimous support of Idaho's delegation.
I have been acquainted with Butch for many years and I find it profoundly disappointing that this letter came out of his office over his signature. The letter is loaded with inaccuracies and exagerations. Will he do better as governor?
